Dermatologic Procedures
Check out several services that will be available when you become our patient:
- Shave Biopsies: When a skin lesion appears suspicious for cancer, a shave biopsy allows us to remove a thin layer of tissue for testing. This quick and minimally invasive procedure helps detect skin cancers such as basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, or melanoma at an early stage.
- Punch Biopsies: For deeper or more complex rashes and lesions, a punch biopsy provides a full-thickness skin sample. This is especially valuable in diagnosing inflammatory skin
diseases, autoimmune conditions, or unexplained rashes. - Excisional Procedures: Certain skin cancers and abnormal growths require complete removal. The tissue will be sent to a pathologist to ensure that the cancer was radically removed.
- Incision & Drainage (I&D): Abscesses and infected cysts are localized skin infections that can cause pain and complications Through a small incision, our providers can safely drain the area, relieve
discomfort, and promote faster healing. - Skin Tag Removal: While benign, skin tags can be bothersome or cosmetically undesirable. We offer safe, quick, and effective removal in the office setting.
- Cryotherapy: Using liquid nitrogen, cryotherapy is an effective way to treat precancerous lesions such as actinic keratosis, as well as warts, seborrheic keratoses, and other skin growths. This targeted approach freezes abnormal tissue for removal while protecting surrounding healthy skin.
- Laceration Repairs: Cuts and wounds require proper cleaning and closure to heal effectively and reduce the risk of infection or unnecessary scarring. Our providers offer suturing and wound care in-office, helping patients avoid unnecessary emergency room visits.
Preventive & Routine Care
- Pap Smear (PAP)
Pap smears are a vital tool for women’s health. This simple, in-office screening test detects cervical cell changes that may indicate cancer or precancerous conditions, enabling early intervention and prevention.
Joint & Musculoskeletal Procedures
- Knee and Shoulder Steroid Injections
Arthritis, bursitis, and tendonitis can lead to persistent joint pain. Corticosteroid injections into the knee or shoulder may help reduce inflammation, improve mobility, and provide long-lasting relief.
- Arthrocentesis
When joints become swollen or painful due to fluid buildup, arthrocentesis can provide relief. By draining excess joint fluid, we not only improve comfort but also obtain valuable diagnostic information to guide treatment.
